Privacy Policy
How Catemon handles your data
Last updated · June 29, 2026. Thank you for choosing Catemon. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our cat-catching sticker app (“App”), in compliance with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines. If you have questions or concerns about our policy, or wish to exercise your data-protection rights, please contact us at support@appsera.net.
Catemon is designed to be privacy-first: the photos you take, the stickers you create, and the locations where you catch cats stay on your device. We do not run our own backend servers that store your content.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Camera Access
Purpose: To let you scan a cat in front of you, isolate it from its background, and turn it into a sticker.
Data Collected: Photos you take with your device camera through the in-app camera.
Storage: Camera frames are processed entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device Vision framework. They are never uploaded to our servers. Only the resulting sticker — and only if you choose to save it — is stored in the App’s private storage on your device.
1.2 Location Access (While In Use)
Purpose: To pin the spot where you caught each cat on your private in-app map.
Data Collected: Approximate or precise geographic coordinates at the moment you save a sticker.
Storage: Locations are stored only on your device, tied to the stickers you save. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you deny or revoke location permission, you can still catch cats and create stickers — the map simply won’t show pins.
1.3 Photo Library Add Access
Purpose: To let you save your cat stickers from Catemon into your Photos library so you can use them in Messages, social apps, etc.
Data Collected: None received by us. Catemon only writes images you explicitly export; it does not read your existing photo library.
1.4 Subscription & Purchase Data
Purpose: To process and verify in-app purchases (Catemon’s premium subscription).
Data Collected via RevenueCat (our subscription platform):
- An anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat.
- Apple App Store transaction information (receipt, product identifier, purchase/expiration dates).
- Coarse device and OS information attached to the receipt (e.g., iOS version, device model class).
This data is processed by Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat, Inc. We do not receive your name, email address, payment-card details, or Apple ID from this process.
Auto-Renewable Subscriptions. Catemon offers auto-renewable subscriptions on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. By subscribing, you agree to the following terms:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews — weekly, monthly, or yearly, depending on the plan you choose — unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time after purchase via your Apple ID account settings (App Store → tap your name → Subscriptions). Canceling stops the next renewal; your current period remains active until it expires.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
The exact title, length, and price of each subscription are shown on the purchase screen inside the App before you confirm. Your use of subscriptions is also governed by the Terms of Use (EULA) referenced in Section 11.
1.5 Usage & Device Data
Purpose: To monitor App stability and improve features.
Data Collected Automatically:
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics, if you have enabled “Share with App Developers” in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
- Aggregated App Store metrics (downloads, retention, country) provided by Apple’s App Analytics.
We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs in Catemon beyond what RevenueCat needs to operate the subscription.
2. How We Use Your Information
- On-device cat detection: Camera frames are run through Apple’s Vision framework on your device to find, isolate, and crop the cat. No image data leaves your device for this step.
- Map pinning: Saved locations are used solely to render pins inside the App’s Map tab.
- Subscription operation: RevenueCat receipts are used to confirm whether your subscription is active across reinstalls and devices using the same Apple ID.
- App stability: Anonymous crash and performance data, when shared by you via iOS, helps us fix bugs.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
- Apple: Handles your in-app purchases and, if you opt in, sends anonymous diagnostic data to us through its standard frameworks.
- RevenueCat, Inc.: Provides subscription infrastructure. Their privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law (e.g., a valid subpoena) or to protect our rights or the safety of users.
- No Selling of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
- No Advertising SDKs: Catemon does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
4. Data Retention
- Your stickers, photos, and caught-cat locations: Stored on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall Catemon. Uninstalling the App removes this data from the device.
- Subscription records (RevenueCat): Retained for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for accounting and refund handling, per RevenueCat’s retention policy.
- Crash diagnostics: Retained in aggregated form for product improvement.
5. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards, including:
- On-device processing by default: The most sensitive data (your photos and locations) never leaves your device.
- Encryption in Transit: All communication with Apple and RevenueCat happens over HTTPS/TLS.
- Sandboxed storage: Catemon’s data is stored inside the iOS application sandbox, protected by the operating system.
- Least-privilege permissions: We only request the iOS permissions strictly needed for the features you use.
6. Children’s Privacy
Catemon is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@appsera.net and we will take steps to remove it.
7. International Data Transfers
Apple and RevenueCat may process subscription data on servers located outside your country of residence. By using Catemon, you consent to the transfer and processing of this limited subscription data in those locations, under applicable data-protection laws (including, where relevant, the GDPR for users in the European Economic Area and the UK GDPR for users in the United Kingdom).
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of any data we hold about you. Note that Catemon stores most of your content directly on your device, where you already have access to it.
- Correction or Deletion: Delete your stickers and pins at any time inside the App. Uninstalling Catemon removes all on-device data.
- Subscription Data: To request deletion of RevenueCat-side subscription records, email us at support@appsera.net and we will work with RevenueCat on your request.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Revoke camera, location, or photo-library permission at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → (respective permission) → Catemon.
- Opt out of Diagnostics: Turn off “Share with App Developers” in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
To exercise these rights, email us at support@appsera.net with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date at the top and, for material changes, surface a notice inside the App. Your continued use of Catemon after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
